1. Why am I required to update my Apple device to the latest iOS version?

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has issued an advisory following Apple’s release of an important security update that addresses multiple iOS vulnerabilities, including an exploit chain known as ‘DarkSword’.

Updating your device to the latest iOS version helps protect it from unauthorised access and ensures a safer experience when using AmOnline.

How to update to the latest iOS version:
Go to Settings > General > Software Update, then install the latest update available.

2. Why is AmOnline App prompt me for Security Scan?
To enhance the security of your device, AmOnline App scans your device for malware and unofficial apps that may pose potential risk. Kindly be assured that no personal data will be accessed or collected during this scanning process.
3. What happens if I do not give my consent to scan my device?

4. What is malware?

Malware refers to malicious software that can put your banking information and online banking security at risk. 

5. What happens if AmOnline App notified me that there is malware detected and what can I do?

This means we have detected malicious apps on your device.

You will need to remove all malicious apps stated on the screen before you are able to use AmOnline App again.

6. What are unofficial apps?

It means any applications that you installed from unofficial sources like unofficial apps stores or 3rd-party websites, including modified APK files. These risky applications may contain harmful or altered code that could compromise your devices.

7. Can I still use AmOnline App if I got the prompt that unofficial apps are detected?

Yes, you may continue using the AmOnline App. However, please be aware that by doing so, you acknowledge and accept the potential security risks that may arise.

For your safety, we highly recommend removing any unofficial apps from your device and installing apps only from trusted sources such as Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery.

8. What is Developer Mode?

Developer Mode is a hidden menu on smartphone designed for software developers to test, debug and customize their applications and device settings.

9. What happens if the Developer Mode is enabled on my device?

It may bypass the standard security protection, compromise sensitive data and allow installation of unverified applications.

AmOnline will prompt you when Developer Mode is detected when you use AmOnline.

For safer banking, switch off the Developer Mode on your device before continue using AmOnline.

10. How do I know if Developer Mode is enabled on my device and how do I switch it off?
Check these at your device:
  1. Go to your device’s ‘Settings’
  2. Search for ‘Developer options’
  3. If ‘Developer options’ appears, it means the feature is enabled. Tap on it to open the settings.
  4. Toggle the switch to turn it off.
