When you receive an SMS saying
you have won something, be wary.

You may regret if you accept it.

This scam involves the fraudster sending you a random SMS,
‘congratulating’ you for winning a prize, reward or money.

  • Many SMS you receive ‘out of the blue’ should be considered suspicious;
    especially those that say you have won something.
  • SMS like these are intended to ‘steal’ your identity by asking you to provide your banking/personal details like bank account number, IC number or online bank password before you can claim the bogus prize.

 

Prevent 

Be vigilant. DO NOT TRUST any SMS from an
unidentified sender or click on any links provided.
When in doubt, delete the SMS immediately.

 

Always stay alert and be aware of the tricks used by scammers.
